Sizing Guide
Three rules for sconces, vanity lights, and matched pairs.
Standard: 60–66 inches from the floor to the center of the fixture. Above a vanity: just above eye level (~64–66 inches).
A bedroom sconce flanking a headboard — centered at 62 inches.
Flanking a mirror or bed: 30–36 inches apart, centered on the headboard or mirror. Above artwork: 6–12 inches above the top of the frame.
A king bed (76 inches wide) calls for sconces 34 inches apart.
Up-facing fixtures suit ambient lighting (living rooms, hallways). Down-facing suit task lighting (vanities, reading nooks).
A reading nook beside a chair — down-facing sconce, 60 inches high.

Yes — every piece in our catalog can be customized. Finish (any metal, any patina, any color), diameter and drop length, color temperature from warm candlelight to crisp daylight, and on most pieces the crystal or shade selection. Our finishing team matches to your sample or your spec.
If you've seen a fixture elsewhere we don't carry, we'll build it from your photo — in your finish, in your size.

Crystal and glass pieces ship in custom-fit foam crates — every arm, every drop, every shade individually cushioned. Metalwork ships in protective wrap inside reinforced cartons.
Large chandeliers ship freight with white-glove options available. You'll get tracking from dispatch to delivery, and a specialist on standby if anything needs attention on arrival.
Easy 30-day returns on stock catalog pieces — if the fixture isn't right for your space, we'll arrange the return and refund. Bespoke and customized pieces are built to your spec and are non-returnable, but we work with you closely through the design phase to ensure it's right before we build.
Installation isn't included — we recommend hiring a licensed electrician, especially for large or hardwired pieces. Every fixture ships with detailed installation instructions, and our specialists are available if your electrician has questions during the install.
Most of our fixtures are dimmable and LED-compatible — specific bulb type and dimmer compatibility are listed in the specifications section of each product page.
If you're planning a smart-home integration or have a specific dimmer brand in mind, a specialist can confirm compatibility before you order.

Postscript · Wall Lights & Sconces
The right wall light does two jobs at once: it lights a space and decorates the wall it sits on. Our collection of modern wall lights and sconces spans decorative indoor designs, warm LED sconces, and statement fixtures — for bedsides, hallways, living-room accent walls, stairways, and beyond. Each is chosen for the quality of its light and the way it finishes a wall.
Wall lights are the most versatile fixtures in the home. Flank a bed with a matching pair for soft bedside light, line a hallway or staircase for ambience, frame a mirror or artwork, or add a warm accent glow to a living-room wall. Because they draw the eye upward and outward, sconces make a room feel larger and more considered.
As a general rule, mount wall sconces about 60–66 inches from the floor to the center of the fixture — roughly eye level. Beside a bed, position them around 30–40 inches above the mattress so light falls where you read. Flanking a mirror, aim for about 60–70 inches; along a hallway, space fixtures 8–10 feet apart for even light.
Modern and decorative designs lead right now — matte black and warm brass finishes, integrated LED, and up/down fixtures that wash light across the wall. Bedroom and accent-wall lighting in soft, warm tones is especially popular, alongside sculptural sconces that read as much like art as lighting.
Build a complete lighting scheme: browse our modern chandeliers, pendant lights, ceiling lights, and living room chandeliers.
How high should wall lights be mounted? About 60–66 inches from the floor to the center of the fixture for general use; around 30–40 inches above the mattress for bedside sconces.
Are wall lights good for a bedroom? Yes — a matching pair beside the bed gives soft, adjustable light for reading and frees up nightstand space, making them one of the most practical bedroom fixtures.
What is the difference between a wall light and a sconce? They are essentially the same — a sconce is a wall-mounted light fixture. The term "sconce" often refers to more decorative or candle-style designs.
What are the best wall lights for a living room? Choose decorative up/down sconces or a warm LED design to create accent lighting on a feature wall, layered with your main ceiling fixture.
