I was nervous ordering a chandelier online, but DecorLane gave me sizing guidance and a 3D mockup of my space before I committed. The piece arrived perfectly packaged and looks stunning above our staircase.

Sizing Guide
Three rules that decide every chandelier.
Add your room's length + width in feet. The total = your chandelier's diameter in inches.
A 16 × 14 ft living room calls for a 30-inch chandelier.
For 8-ft ceilings, the bottom of the chandelier should sit 30–36 inches above the table. Add 3 inches per foot of additional ceiling height.
10-ft ceiling, dining table — 36–42 inches above the table.
The chandelier's diameter should be ½ to ⅔ of the table's shorter dimension.
A 72-inch round table calls for a 36–48 inch chandelier.
Frequently Asked
Sizing, customization, shipping, installation — the answers most clients want before they pick a fixture.
Two quick rules. Diameter: add your room's length and width in feet — that sum is roughly the right diameter in inches. A 14×16ft room calls for a ~30in chandelier. Hanging height: 30–36in above a dining table; 7ft from the floor in open rooms.
If you're between two sizes — or if your ceiling is unusually high or low — our specialists size it with you on a 10-minute call.
Yes — every piece in our catalog can be customized. Finish (any metal, any patina, any color), diameter and drop length, color temperature from warm candlelight to crisp daylight, and on most pieces the crystal or shade selection. Our finishing team matches to your sample or your spec.
If you've seen a fixture elsewhere we don't carry, we'll build it from your photo — in your finish, in your size.
Start a Custom ProjectYes. Free shipping, worldwide. Every piece is insured door-to-door and tracked from our warehouse to your address. Duties and customs are handled on most international routes — if your destination requires anything specific, a specialist will walk you through it.
Crystal and glass pieces ship in custom-fit foam crates — every arm, every drop, every shade individually cushioned. Metalwork ships in protective wrap inside reinforced cartons.
Large chandeliers ship freight with white-glove options available. You'll get tracking from dispatch to delivery, and a specialist on standby if anything needs attention on arrival.
Easy 30-day returns on stock catalog pieces — if the fixture isn't right for your space, we'll arrange the return and refund. Bespoke and customized pieces are built to your spec and are non-returnable, but we work with you closely through the design phase to ensure it's right before we build.
Installation isn't included — we recommend hiring a licensed electrician, especially for large or hardwired pieces. Every fixture ships with detailed installation instructions, and our specialists are available if your electrician has questions during the install.
Chandeliers ship with adjustable chain or rod lengths — extra length is included so your electrician can hang it at the exact height for your ceiling.
Most of our fixtures are dimmable and LED-compatible — specific bulb type and dimmer compatibility are listed in the specifications section of each product page.
If you're planning a smart-home integration or have a specific dimmer brand in mind, a specialist can confirm compatibility before you order.
Yes. Send us a photo of your room and your dimensions, and we'll mock up the fixture in your space before you commit. It's free, takes a day or two, and removes the guesswork on scale, finish, and proportion.
Request a 3D MockupEvery fixture is covered by our 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects — covering crystal, metalwork, finish, and electrical components. If anything arrives damaged or develops an issue under normal use, we replace or repair it.
Cleaning and maintenance is simple — regular dusting plus occasional gentle wipe-down with a damp cloth keeps most pieces looking new for decades.
Yes — we work directly with interior designers, architects, hospitality projects, and developers. Trade pricing, project-based discounts, and dedicated specialist support are available for qualified accounts.

Postscript · Modern Chandeliers
A chandelier is the fastest way to give a room a focal point. Our collection of modern chandeliers spans crystal, contemporary, and statement designs — from tiered cascades for grand spaces to refined fixtures for everyday rooms — each chosen for presence, craftsmanship, and the quality of its light.
The rule designers use: add the length and width of the room in feet, and that number in inches is a good chandelier diameter. A 12 ft × 14 ft room (12 + 14 = 26) suits a chandelier around 26 inches wide. Size up for double-height ceilings or a deliberate statement.
With a standard 8 ft ceiling, keep the bottom at least 7 feet from the floor in walkways; add ~3 inches for each additional foot of ceiling height. Over a dining table, hang lower — about 30–36 inches above the tabletop.
Contemporary designs lead in matte black, warm brass, chrome, and gold, with crystal the enduring luxury choice. Linear and rectangular shapes suit modern tables; tiered and cascading designs make an entrance in foyers and stairwells.
Find the right fixture for every space: living room chandeliers, dining room chandeliers, bedroom chandeliers, foyer & staircase chandeliers, kitchen chandeliers, and outdoor chandeliers. Explore all luxury lighting.
Browse by the look you're after: crystal chandeliers, contemporary chandeliers, linear chandeliers, tiered chandeliers, and rectangular chandeliers.
What size chandelier do I need? Add the room's length and width in feet for a good diameter in inches; size up for tall ceilings and statement looks.
How high should a chandelier hang? At least 7 feet from the floor in walkways; 30–36 inches above a dining tabletop.
What is the most popular chandelier style right now? Modern and contemporary designs in matte black, brass, and crystal, with sculptural and linear shapes leading.
Where can you hang a chandelier? Almost any room — living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, foyers, kitchens, and covered outdoor spaces, sized appropriately.
